Web Content Developer (Accessibility)

Location: On-site in Leavenworth, Kansas; must be a U.S. citizen and able to work on a military installation.

What you will do

• Convert Adobe InDesign publications into accessible HTML and PDF formats and publish them across digital platforms.
• Develop and maintain semantic HTML5 and CSS3 using responsive, cross-browser-compatible layouts.
• Test and remediate webpages and PDFs against WCAG 2.1, PDF/UA, and Section 508 requirements using accessibility tools such as PAC 2024 Checker.
• Manage content in DotNetNuke or similar CMS platforms, including publication elements, multimedia, graphics, links, metadata, and structured data.
• Optimize content for SEO, answer engine optimization, generative search, and digital accessibility.
• Analyze engagement and content performance using Google Analytics, Looker Studio, and social media analytics while collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and successful completion of a required background investigation.
• Ability to work on-site at a military installation in Leavenworth, Kansas.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, responsive web design, Bootstrap, cross-browser compatibility, and complex publication formatting.
• Knowledge of WCAG 2.1, PDF/UA, Section 508, accessibility testing, and PDF remediation.
• Experience with Adobe InDesign and converting publication content into accessible digital formats; proficiency with Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Strong proofreading, editing, communication, organization, troubleshooting, and deadline-management skills. A valid state-issued driver's license and required automobile insurance are also required.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Web Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of JavaScript.
• Experience with text-to-speech or generative audio tools.
