Principal TD Device Engineer (Silicon Photonics)

Location: Malta, New York, USA; onsite role with up to 10% domestic travel.

Salary: $85,000–$146,000 per year, depending on qualifications, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Improve silicon photonic device performance, manufacturability, product quality, process stability, and manufacturing efficiency.
• Perform data mining and analysis, macro design for experiments, device test-structure simulation, and electro-optical test coordination.
• Develop and enable open-source software for silicon photonic device and macro design and simulation.
• Own a technology module, prioritize projects, delegate tasks, define improvement experiments, and manage hardware disposition.
• Identify manufacturing line issues through data analysis and drive containment and resolution to protect yield and delivery.
• Collaborate with device and process-module teams on new production technologies and cost-reduction initiatives.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of progressively responsible post-baccalaureate experience in the offered role or a related role.
• At least 2 years of experience with silicon photonics, electrical or computer engineering, or device physics.
• At least 1 year of experience with coding using Python or R, simulation tools such as Lumerical and Cadence, and PDK-to-tapeout flows for customer designs.
• Experience with macro design, Cadence SKILL for generating PDK parametric cells, and HFSS.
• Ability to work onsite in Malta, New York, USA, with up to 10% domestic travel.
