Senior Incident Response DFIR Consultant - Engagement Lead (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote within the United States; up to 5% business travel. Full-time schedule.

Salary: $100,200–$164,100 annually, plus eligibility for a 15% short-term incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Lead incident response engagements, digital forensics investigations, malware analysis, and threat actor attribution.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support to contain active threats, preserve evidence, and minimize business disruption.
• Examine compromised systems, networks, and cloud environments using forensic tools and established methodologies.
• Brief executives and produce reports that translate technical findings into business impact and remediation recommendations.
• Coordinate response activities with IT teams, legal counsel, insurance carriers, law enforcement, and executive stakeholders.
• Guide ransomware, business email compromise, insider threat, and advanced persistent threat investigations while mentoring junior consultants.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of cybersecurity experience; alternatively, 6+ years with the Zurich Cybersecurity Technician Apprentice pathway and certification, or 7+ years with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Advanced proficiency in digital forensics and incident response, Windows/Linux forensics, forensic tools, ransomware and BEC investigations, client communication, and executive reporting.
• Intermediate proficiency in threat intelligence, malware analysis, network forensics, cloud security across Azure/AWS/M365, and project management.
• Experience communicating with threat actors and managing stakeholders during complex crisis situations.
• Must be able to work remotely within the United States and participate in 24/7 on-call response and occasional travel.
