Analytics Engineer (iGaming)

Location: Hybrid role based in Jersey City, New Jersey, United States

Salary: $116,000–$152,250 per year

What you will do

• Design, build, maintain, and improve data models, datasets, and visualizations for sports modeling and business decision-making.
• Develop fast, including near-real-time, data ingestion pipelines using SQL databases, Delta Lakes, Python, R, and Databricks.
• Maintain validation pipelines that identify bad or missing data and adapt them for new databases.
• Manage data transformation jobs, optimize code, troubleshoot issues, and automate data cleaning across large datasets.
• Optimize database performance by balancing memory and speed, reducing query execution times, and removing unused metrics.
• Own the prioritized backlog for Tableau dashboard and RShiny application enhancements.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in an analytics or data engineering role.
• 2+ years of experience maintaining databases and improving data ingestion pipelines.
• Deep understanding of relational databases.
• Proficiency in SQL, Databricks, R or Python, Tableau, AWS S3, and command-line tools.
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in mathematics, statistics, economics, or another highly numerate field, or relevant data analysis experience.
• Strong problem-solving, organization, time management, collaboration, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience building data pipelines with Python or R and Databricks.
• Curiosity about AI and emerging technologies.
