Data Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco; in-office role

Salary: $160,000–$200,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Build 0-to-1 data infrastructure for strategic decision-making across the business.
• Use Python and SQL across multiple databases to parse complex engineering and AI logs and create reliable datasets.
• Partner with engineering to instrument new product surfaces and maintain clean event and usage data.
• Translate ambiguous business scenarios across Growth, GTM, Pricing, Deals Desk, Strategic Finance, and Product into measurable data problems.
• Continuously improve data infrastructure as the company and data volumes scale.

Requirements

• 3+ years of data experience in early-stage or high-growth environments, preferably on a lean data team.
• Expertise in SQL and BI tools such as Hex, Looker, or similar.
• Experience building tables and databases from scratch.
• Ability to work end to end across data, engineering, and business problems, including reading code and presenting findings to leadership.
• Ability to work in the San Francisco office.

Nice to have

• Experience with ClickHouse and change data capture.
• Experience building custom data connectors and webhooks.
• Experience optimizing database and query performance.
