What you will do
- Lead the design, development, and continuous improvement of scalable data pipelines, Lakehouse architectures, and data products on Databricks and AWS.
- Manage up to nine data engineers and five consultants, including hiring, onboarding, performance reviews, coaching, and career development.
- Set technical strategy and platform governance in partnership with Data Architects, Product Managers, Analytics, and Engineering teams.
- Plan and prioritize delivery across discovery, platform investment, and operational work.
- Own production health, service-level agreements, incident response, reliability, and infrastructure cost management.
- Resolve architecture gaps and drive coherent, resilient, and maintainable data platform solutions.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Platform, or related data roles.
- 3+ years of experience leading engineering teams, including coaching, performance management, and organizational development.
- Strong experience building scalable data platforms and production-grade data pipelines using Python, Scala, or similar programming languages.
- Experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, Snowflake, BigQuery, or comparable modern cloud data platforms.
- Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives, architecture discussions, and engineering design reviews.
- Experience with resilient data systems, monitoring, alerting, and operational tools such as Monte Carlo, PagerDuty, and DataDog.
