What you will do
- Create new data pipelines and maintain or debug pipelines sourcing data from multiple systems.
- Support data ingestion, transformation, warehousing, and high-quality data delivery across AWS and GCP.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and data teams on software development and cloud architecture best practices.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues with guidance from senior engineers, communicating status to stakeholders.
- Develop testing and monitoring solutions, provide technical handover and escalation support, and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably in financial services, fintech, or a similar industry.
- Experience with data warehouse technologies, preferably GCP BigQuery.
- Experience with cloud messaging, cloud storage, cloud functions, and serverless SQL in AWS or GCP.
- Experience with relational database capacity planning, performance monitoring and tuning, backup, and recovery.
- Proficiency in SQL and an object-oriented language, preferably Python or Java.
- Experience with data modeling, data analysis, and adapting to new technologies and methodologies.
