Senior Data Scientist (Fintech)

What you will do

• Understand, clean, validate, and preprocess client data.
• Use shell scripts and Python, Java, or Scala for data preparation.
• Compute features iteratively and tune parameters to improve model quality.
• Communicate findings to project managers and support data science decisions.
• Collaborate with client data scientists, engineers, and risk managers.
• Improve processes, best practices, and tooling with Product, Research, and other teams.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or a related field.
• Proficiency in machine learning, including model training, testing, and overfitting prevention.
• Knowledge of Big Data technologies such as Spark and Hadoop.
• Proficiency in Bash, Python, and either Java or Scala.
• Knowledge of resource monitoring and runtime optimization at JVM and operating-system levels.
• Superior oral, presentation, and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Fraud and digital business domain experience.
• Customer-facing experience.
• Knowledge of statistics or data visualization.
• Knowledge of tree-based algorithms such as Random Forests, XGBoost, and LGBM.
