Senior Robotics Field Engineer (Industrial Automation)

Location: Union City, California, United States; the role includes 50–70% travel to customer sites and may require weekends and odd hours.

Salary: $125,000–$165,000 per year, plus benefits and equity.

What you will do

• Lead the setup, integration, deployment, and maintenance of autonomous forklifts at customer sites.
• Own customer-site technical planning, risk management, system readiness, and go-live decisions.
• Debug Linux, networking, services, logs, telemetry, hardware, and customer integrations from first principles.
• Integrate the autonomous forklift system with customer warehouse management systems and maintain site configurations.
• Coordinate with Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to improve reliability, adoption, utilization, and performance.
• Create implementation playbooks, diagnostic tools, scripts, optimization notes, and operator training materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Robotics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 6+ years of field experience coordinating with customers across robotics hardware, software, and networking.
• Experience with industrial automation, industrial machinery repair, and full-scale warehouse environments.
• Linux command-line tools, networking, administration, and scripting experience; Python and C++ experience is preferred.
• Strong customer relationship management, communication, change management, and automation skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification; physical mobility throughout warehouse facilities is required.
