Site/Civil Engineering Intern (Controls & Automation)

Location: Pittsburgh, PA, United States; in-office environment with remote work available when needed

What you will do

• Support instrumentation and control system engineering design for maintenance, expansion, and new construction projects.
• Participate in site evaluations, data collection, and P&ID development with associated instrument lists.
• Assist with equipment specifications, instrument data sheets, motor schematics, loop drawings, layouts, and instrument location drawings.
• Support PLC, DCS, and HMI programming preparation and functional descriptions.
• Provide construction, commissioning, and start-up support on site.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and support senior engineers and designers.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or chemical engineering, with an interest in controls or computer science.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
• Understanding of engineering and business fundamentals, with the ability to apply technical knowledge to practical problems.
• Strong written and verbal communication, organization, attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively on multidisciplinary teams, learn quickly, adapt to change, and maintain a strong commitment to safety.
