Student Engineering Intern (Civil)

Location: Anchorage, Alaska, USA; based in the Anchorage office

What you will do

• Assist with civil engineering design work in the Transportation Market Sector.
• Perform engineering calculations and simulations.
• Research assigned civil engineering topics.
• Assist with field inspections and gain exposure to job sites and Alaskan communities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff on public- and private-sector client projects.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
• Knowledge of fundamental civil engineering concepts and strong problem-solving and math skills.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret plan sets and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and some proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Nice to have

• Interest in designing roads, underground utilities, site grading, paving, and storm drainage.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, efficient, and able to produce accurate, high-quality work.
• Team-oriented approach to delivering quality work.
