Senior Data Engineer (Python/ML)

Location: McLean, VA, USA

Salary: $110,000–$120,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop high-performance data-processing and analytical workflows using Python, Polars, NumPy, and related technologies.
• Prepare, transform, analyze, and validate data for analytical and reporting environments.
• Develop, train, evaluate, refine, and optimize predictive machine learning models.
• Monitor predictive models and identify model or data drift.
• Build production-ready analytical capabilities and integrate data products and predictive models into the Army Vantage environment.
• Collaborate with integration and Foundry development teams, troubleshoot technical issues, and document data-processing and modeling approaches.

Requirements

• 8+ years of data engineering experience, including designing dimensional models for analytical and reporting environments.
• Strong proficiency in Python with hands-on experience in Polars and NumPy.
• Experience with predictive machine learning, LightGBM, and XGBoost.
• Demonstrated senior-level data engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, data analytics, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Active Secret security clearance required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Palantir Foundry or Army Vantage.
• Experience operationalizing predictive models in enterprise environments.
• Experience with large or complex government data environments.
• Army, Department of Defense, or federal mission-system experience.
