Software Development Engineer (Java/Go)

What you will do

• Design, implement, test, deploy, and maintain production backend software primarily using Java or Go.
• Build and improve services, APIs, libraries, and tooling supporting access-related workflows and platform capabilities.
• Deliver well-scoped features and technical improvements while contributing to technical decisions and reducing technical debt.
• Debug production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and improve reliability, observability, performance, security, and operational readiness.
• Participate in monitoring, incident response, code reviews, design reviews, and technical documentation.
• Collaborate with product, security, infrastructure, and engineering teams to deliver effective solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Professional software development experience with Java or Go as a primary programming language.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, APIs, testing, debugging, and version control.
• Experience writing automated tests, diagnosing defects, and making safe, maintainable changes to existing codebases.
• Familiarity with distributed systems, backend services, cloud infrastructure, or similar production environments.
• Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly, collaborate effectively, and take ownership of engineering tasks through completion.

Nice to have

• Experience building production backend services and RESTful or RPC-based APIs.
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, identity, permissions, or access-control concepts.
• Experience with cloud platforms, containers, CI/CD, monitoring, observability, infrastructure-as-code, or developer productivity tooling.
• Understanding of secure software development practices and experience operating production services.
