Software Engineer, Networking (Edge)

Salary: $218,420–$302,840 CAD annually

What you will do

• Design, build, evaluate, and document networking features, connectivity solutions, and the open-source client network dataplane.
• Develop and operate global Funnel and DERP relay infrastructure and associated network protocols.
• Improve the scalability, availability, performance, reliability, and observability of hosted networking services.
• Investigate and resolve complex escalated networking issues across diverse technical environments.
• Manage incident response, technical support escalations, and operational accountability for live services.
• Apply security-focused practices throughout the design and implementation of networking components.

Requirements

• Proven experience in networking software development and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of VPNs, NAT traversal, routing, and IP addressing.
• Experience with distributed systems, global-scale services, SRE, and DevOps methodologies.
• Experience with Go is highly desired; most systems are developed in Go.
• Strong written and verbal communication, constructive collaboration, and independent working skills.
• Adaptability to a fast-paced startup environment.
