Senior Scientist – Generative AI for Workflow, Applications and Plug-ins

Location: Hybrid role based primarily in Madrid or Barcelona, Spain

Base pay: €55,400–€87,860 per year, plus an annual bonus or sales commissions depending on the role and location.

What you will do

• Lead the technical strategy and implementation of GenAI-enabled document-authoring workflows across R&D.
• Transform document-specific processes into reusable enterprise authoring capabilities on an internal Agentic Platform.
• Define roadmaps, requirements, evidence-retrieval patterns, grounding, drafting, citation, review, and revision workflows.
• Partner with Data, Evaluation & Quality, and Foundation Platform teams on data connectivity, content quality, traceability, regulatory readiness, and reusable plugins.
• Evaluate modular vendor services and integrate quality-control capabilities into authoring workflows.
• Provide technical leadership to engineers, contractors, subject-matter experts, and data-science partners while scaling prototypes into enterprise solutions.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in AI/ML, Computer Science, Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related field, plus 2+ years of hands-on GenAI science or engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience with multi-agent frameworks such as LangGraph, DSPy, memO, or similar architectures.
• Strong Python skills and experience with PyTorch and TensorFlow.
• Experience building RAG systems with chunking, embeddings, vector databases, and reranking.
• Knowledge of uncertainty quantification, probabilistic modelling, information theory, structured generation, schema enforcement, and model/tool orchestration.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of drug development, regulatory submissions, and biological or chemical data.
• Experience with scientific literature analysis, knowledge extraction, structured content generation, QC systems, verification agents, or regulatory document automation.
• Experience fine-tuning LLMs, deploying AI systems on AWS or Azure, and applying statistical validation methods.
• Experience with Git-based development and CI/CD pipelines.
