Principal Software Engineer (AI)

Location: Spain

Salary: €80,400–€127,200 EUR per year base salary, with no variable compensation component.

What you will do

• Improve the reliability and efficiency of continuous integration infrastructure.
• Build and manage systems that produce releasable software artifacts.
• Enable ephemeral developer environments and develop tooling for product deployment and release.
• Define and enforce release quality gates across the software development lifecycle.
• Review code, improve performance, identify defects early, and maintain engineering standards.
• Collaborate across engineering and product, document architectural decisions, communicate technical direction, and mentor engineers.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of build, packaging, testing, release, and quality strategies across the full software development lifecycle.
• Deep experience with one or more of Python, Go, Bash, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with CI/CD systems, Git, cloud infrastructure, and developer platforms.
• Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, configuration management tools, and major cloud providers.
• Hands-on AI experience integrating LLM APIs into production workflows and applying prompt engineering to domain-specific problems.
• Strong technical communication skills and experience improving code review quality, engineering standards, and team efficiency.
