VDC Technician Intern (Summer 2027)

What you will do

• Develop and review project documents, including calculations, reports, construction drawings, and specifications.
• Coordinate discipline deliverables within project models under the direction of a VDC Coordinator and assigned mentor.
• Create views, run audits, organize sheet packages, manage data, and perform clash detection.
• Assist with conceptual designs and coordinate with design teams, vendors, clients, contractors, and other disciplines.
• Apply VDC standards to renovation and new construction projects covering mechanical, electrical, automation, architecture, and process disciplines.

Requirements

• Pursuing an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Aided Design, Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or an equivalent field.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop actionable insights.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate with multiple disciplines and internal and external stakeholders.
• Eagerness to learn about the AEC industry and apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering applications.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D collaboration tools such as Navisworks, BIM360 Suite, or Assemble.
• Familiarity with AEC industry regulations and standards.
• Prior internship or co-op experience in CAD, BIM, engineering design, or a related field.
• Interest in the food and beverage or life sciences industry.
