Student Structural BIM Technician Intern (BIM)

Location: Rapid City, South Dakota, USA; onsite in the Rapid City office

What you will do

• Develop and maintain structural BIM models using Revit under the guidance of senior staff.
• Prepare structural drawings, details, and model-based documentation for different project phases.
• Coordinate with structural engineers and BIM technicians to incorporate design changes and redlines.
• Perform basic model checks to identify clashes, inconsistencies, and missing information.
• Organize BIM files and extract quantities, schedules, and basic model data.
• Participate in coordination meetings and learn multidisciplinary workflows involving structural, architectural, and MEP disciplines.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing an associate’s degree in drafting, architectural or structural engineering technology, or a related field.
• Interest in structural design and BIM workflows.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines, communicate effectively, and collaborate in a team environment.

Nice to have

• Coursework or experience in structural drafting or BIM.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit.
• AutoCAD experience.
