HSS - Junior Scrum Master

Location: Cheltenham, United Kingdom; onsite 5 days per week. Candidates must have the right to work in the United Kingdom and meet applicable UK Government and contractual personnel security and residency requirements. Some roles may have nationality requirements.

What you will do

• Run daily, weekly, and monthly Agile and Scrum ceremonies.
• Remove impediments to Scrum Team progress and coordinate the personnel or processes needed to resolve them.
• Track progress, identify blockages, and improve transparency across the team and stakeholders.
• Guide the Product Owner, Scrum Team, and wider organisation in Agile and Scrum practices and values.
• Coach teams toward higher Scrum maturity using servant leadership, facilitation, empowerment, and continual improvement.
• Support communication, conflict resolution, backlog management, technical debt tracking, and effective Scrum events.

Requirements

• Eligibility to meet applicable UK Government and contractual personnel security and residency requirements.
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
• Knowledge of Scrum practices, artifacts, events, backlog refinement, user stories, and definition of done.
• Strong facilitation, communication, organisation, time management, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to work proactively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of leadership, situational awareness, transparency, empowerment, and safe team environments.

Nice to have

• Recognised Scrum Master certification such as CSM, PSM I, or PSM II.
• Prior experience working on a Scrum team.
• Familiarity with software development.
• Background knowledge of Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence.
• Knowledge of automated testing and other Scrum techniques.
