Technical Lead (Die Engineering)

Location: Flint, Michigan; hybrid schedule with 3 days in-office and 2 days remote. Must be able to report to the local office.

What you will do

• Lead die program management at the die-line level across construction, verification, secondary tryout, and production transition.
• Manage engineering packages, timing, deliverables, SPQRC metrics, and compliance with company processes.
• Analyze stamping processes, die machining files, formability, dimensional data, surfacing information, and die quality issues.
• Coordinate design reviews, panel reviews, validation meetings, corrective action plans, and issue closure.
• Develop bearing zone files, support die adjustment and surface treatment plans, and apply lessons learned.
• Support die implementation, EWOs, T-Events, GSQE and painted panel reviews, and QAB submissions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Tool and Die Integration Engineer, CAD Engineer, or in a related role.
• At least 5 years of experience with project management, including cost, timing, scope, quality, risk, procurement, and stakeholder management.
• Experience with GDVP, Product Engineer Release Levels, Die Operation Lineup, Die Machining Files, Formability Analysis, V-Events, and T-Events.
• Experience with NX, Teamcenter, Teamcenter Visualization Mockup, MS Office, GOM, AutoForm, and PamStamp.
• Knowledge of die engineering, formability, die design, press-line configuration, machining, die construction, tryout, and T-Event practices.
