Senior AI Engineer

Location: LATAM; fully remote

What you will do

• Design and develop reusable AI components, libraries, APIs, plugins, tools, and internal development frameworks.
• Define reference architectures, technical patterns, standards, and best practices for Generative AI solutions.
• Integrate Large Language Models and AI services within the AWS ecosystem using Node.js, TypeScript, serverless architectures, and the Serverless Framework.
• Implement AI capabilities including structured generation, tool calling, agents, RAG, MCP, embeddings, and semantic search.
• Build testing, evaluation, observability, security, and operational controls for AI-powered solutions.
• Research emerging technologies, turn proof-of-concepts into production-ready systems, document implementation guidance, and support engineering teams with adoption.

Requirements

• Senior-level backend software development experience.
• Strong Node.js expertise and solid JavaScript and/or TypeScript experience.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, serverless architectures, distributed systems, and reusable software components.
• Experience with software architecture, technical design, testing, security, observability, CI/CD, and engineering decision-making.
• Hands-on experience developing or integrating Large Language Model and Generative AI solutions.
• Strong communication, technical documentation, ownership, autonomy, and cross-team collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Amazon Bedrock, other Generative AI platforms, the Serverless Framework, or plugin development.
• Knowledge of RAG, AI agents, tool calling, MCP, structured generation, embeddings, semantic search, and vector databases.
• Experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, Step Functions, EventBridge, SQS, SNS, and DynamoDB.
• Experience implementing evaluation frameworks, guardrails, observability, and operational practices for LLM applications.
• Experience building internal development platforms, frameworks, or developer tools.
