Sr. Software Engineer - AI/ML - AI Platform (EDI) (AI/ML, LLMs, agentic systems): Building and productionizing AI-native products and core platform capabilities with an accent on LLMs, vector databases, agentic frameworks, and scalable backend services. Focus on architecting high-performance production systems, evaluating emerging AI technologies, and driving continuous improvement through metrics and user feedback.
Location: Edinburgh, UK. Applicants must have and maintain the right to work in the United Kingdom from the first day of employment. Visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do
- Drive end-to-end delivery of AI-native products from prototypes to scalable production services.
- Architect, build, and productionize core AI platform components, including LLM capabilities, vector databases, prompt tuning, and agentic frameworks.
- Develop agent capabilities such as MCP, cross-platform tool use, web browsing, and computer use.
- Enforce technical discipline and operational excellence across AI products.
- Iterate on AI products using performance metrics and user feedback.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and collaborate with product managers and engineering teams to translate strategy into production systems.
Requirements
- Extensive professional experience in backend software engineering.
- Expertise with Python, Golang, gRPC, AWS, and Kubernetes.
- Experience owning and shipping complex, production-grade systems.
- Experience shipping and maintaining AI-native products or features, or significant personal AI projects.
- Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom from the first day of employment.
Nice to have
- Experience with LLMs and agentic systems.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, LangChain, or MLflow.
- Advanced understanding of the probabilistic systems underlying modern LLMs.
- Experience building AI products in accuracy-sensitive domains such as finance.
