Head of Design

Location: Ukraine or Europe. Hybrid work model with the option to work remotely or from the Kyiv coworking hub.

What you will do

• Own the operating model for collaboration between design, product, and engineering.
• Manage and develop Product Design Managers and a UX Research Manager.
• Build function health metrics covering capacity, delivery, and quality.
• Plan budgets, allocate resources, and handle ad-hoc budget requests.
• Align design capacity and priorities with product roadmaps and represent design at leadership level.
• Drive hiring plans, team structures, operational goals, and the function development roadmap.

Requirements

• Experience leading managers in design management or design operations leadership.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Practical experience with capacity planning, resource allocation, and budget management.
• Ability to define and track design performance and delivery-quality metrics.
• Structured thinking and the ability to translate strategy into operational plans and clear goals.
• Comfort working in a fast-growing, product-driven environment.

Nice to have

• Background in product design or UX research.
• Experience building or scaling design operations from the ground up.
• Familiarity with design systems, OKR frameworks, B2C software, or SaaS environments.
