Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS & Azure)

Location: Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Candidates currently living in Brisbane or willing to relocate are encouraged to apply.

Salary: A$175,000–A$180,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on experience.

What you will do

• Build, maintain, and optimize infrastructure across AWS and Azure.
• Design secure cloud networking solutions covering VPCs, VNets, routing, DNS, VPNs, and private connectivity.
• Manage firewalls, security groups, and broader cloud security controls.
• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code with AWS CDK and TypeScript.
• Support cloud migration, platform modernization, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment infrastructure.
• Monitor cloud platforms, investigate technical issues, and improve reliability while collaborating with international engineering teams.

Requirements

• Five or more years of commercial cloud engineering experience with AWS and/or Azure.
• Strong knowledge of cloud networking, including VPCs, VNets, subnets, routing, DNS, and hybrid connectivity.
• Experience with firewalls and network security controls; Palo Alto experience is preferred.
• Practical Infrastructure-as-Code experience and exposure to CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins.
• Scripting experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

Nice to have

• AWS or Microsoft Azure certifications.
• Multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud experience.
• Knowledge of zero-trust security, private networking, and network segmentation.
• Hands-on experience with AWS CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or Prometheus.
