Technical Lead Manager, Onboard Map Expansion (Autonomous Driving)

Location: On-site in Mountain View or San Francisco, California

Salary: $251,000–$310,000 USD per year, plus eligibility for an annual bonus, equity incentive plan, and company benefits.

What you will do

• Design and implement horizontal solutions for behavioral driving issues in new cities.
• Develop technology and APIs that support robust driving despite map correctness and availability challenges.
• Build quantitative evaluation techniques for data-driven development.
• Collaborate with leads and technical lead managers across the organization.
• Partner with Mapping, Product, and the broader Onboard software stack.

Requirements

• PhD, master's, or bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a related field.
• Experience manipulating and analyzing large datasets.
• Experience solving design problems spanning multiple software components.
• Experience with high-quality API design and data-driven evaluation techniques.

Nice to have

• Autonomous driving experience, including motion planning or perception.
• Proficiency in SQL.
• Proficiency in C++.
• Experience building scalable evaluation workflows and metrics for machine learning models.
