Specialist Solutions Architect - Data Engineering (Healthcare & Life Sciences)

Location: United States. Travel of up to 30% may be required.

Salary: $264,000–$363,000 USD annually, with potential annual performance bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Guide strategic customers through big data architecture, engineering, implementation, and model deployment.
• Architect production-grade data pipelines and lead end-to-end performance testing and optimization.
• Develop deep expertise in data lakes, big data streaming, ingestion, workflows, or industry-specific use cases.
• Support Solution Architects with technical pre-sales, proofs of concept, workload sizing, and custom architectures.
• Deliver technical tutorials, training, hackathons, and conference presentations.
• Contribute to the Databricks Community and collaborate with internal technical teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a technical role involving software engineering, data engineering, or data applications.
• Extensive experience building, maintaining, and extending production big data pipelines and systems.
• Deep expertise in at least one area including scalable ETL, Hadoop-to-cloud migration, large-scale ingestion and CDC, streaming pipelines, or cloud data lake technologies such as Delta and Delta Live.
• Production programming experience with SQL and Python, Scala, or Java.
• At least 2 years of professional experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, or Kafka.
• At least 2 years of customer-facing experience in a pre-sales or post-sales role, plus a bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
