Mechanical Engineer: Junior & Senior Level Openings (Quantum Hardware)

Location: Onsite in Helsinki, Finland; candidates must have the right to work in Finland. Typical working hours are 11:00–19:00 local time, with possible overlap with U.S.-based colleagues, customers, and business partners.

What you will do

• Create complex mechanical designs, drawings, and documentation for parts and assemblies using DFX principles.
• Define technical specifications for subsystems and components supporting product development.
• Investigate root causes, identify corrective actions, and implement design changes for existing products and processes.
• Own subsystem development and sustaining activities, including planning, requirements gathering, documentation, and ECO execution at the senior level.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and operations to transition concepts into scalable, high-quality products.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• Junior level: 2–3 years of experience in mechanical design; senior level: 4–8 years.
• Proven ability to bring mechanical concepts into physical products.
• Ability to work onsite in Helsinki and existing right to work in Finland.
• Strong technical and analytical skills, with the ability to contribute to or manage small projects.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ansys or equivalent analysis software.
• Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Hands-on experience building prototypes, test apparatus, and fixtures.
• Machine shop and fabrication skills.
• For senior candidates: experience with NRTL and CE product safety standards, plus an understanding of software and electrical systems.
