Location: hirify.global Finland, Espoo; hybrid setup with flexible hours

hirify.global builds full-stack quantum computers, from quantum hardware to software layers, for scientific and industrial applications.

What you will do

  • Lead the development and optimization of fabrication processes for next-generation quantum chips.
  • Design, execute, and analyze hypothesis-driven experiments involving new materials, fabrication methods, and process flows.
  • Assess technical feasibility, risks, and integration strategies for future quantum processing unit architectures.
  • Collaborate with Design, Calibration, Equipment Engineering, Process Integration, Chip Production, and Cleanroom teams to bring fabrication technologies into production.
  • Mentor Process Engineers and Technicians in experimental design, troubleshooting, and technical development.
  • Document technical knowledge through reports, publications, and patent contributions while supporting the transition from R&D to scalable manufacturing.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in micro- or nanofabrication, including at least 2 years in R&D or technology development in quantum or semiconductor technologies.
  • Deep expertise in quantum chip or advanced semiconductor fabrication processes and experience developing and validating manufacturing techniques.
  • Master’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Nanotechnology, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Experience designing structured investigations, interpreting complex data, and making evidence-based technical decisions.
  • Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams, independently drive long-term initiatives, and navigate uncertainty.
  • Strong technical communication skills and the ability to mentor colleagues.

Nice to have

  • Experience contributing to patents, scientific publications, or technology roadmaps.
  • Familiarity with scaling research processes into robust, manufacturable production technologies.
  • PhD in a relevant field.
