Staff, Fullstack Engineer (E-commerce)

Salary: $164,000–$282,000 per year

What you will do

• Build, own, and maintain large-scale distributed systems for seller listings, order fulfillment, and settlements.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers, frontend developers, product owners, and other cross-functional partners.
• Define and execute short- and long-term architecture and design roadmaps.
• Improve platform efficiency, flexibility, performance, availability, and customer trust.
• Write clean, maintainable code and conduct comprehensive testing and debugging.
• Provide technical direction to junior engineers and support Rocket Growth initiatives.

Requirements

• 6+ years of professional coding experience with modern programming languages such as Java, Scala, Kotlin, C++, or C#.
• 5+ years of experience with fundamental algorithms, system design, and large distributed systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and experience working in an agile environment with tight deadlines.
• Previous e-commerce leadership experience and experience leading distributed systems development.

• Experience delivering complex software systems to customers.
• Experience communicating with users, technical teams, and senior management about requirements, product features, designs, and strategy.
• Experience influencing engineering best practices and working across frontend and backend technologies.
• Experience developing simple, innovative solutions based on customer needs.
