Senior Test Engineer (QA Automation)

Location: Vienna, VA, United States (Hybrid); Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Salary: $96,100–$123,200 annually.

What you will do

• Lead integration, regression, functional, and system integration testing for complex, highly integrated applications.
• Create test plans, test cases, test scripts, test results, sign-off documentation, and knowledge articles.
• Develop, execute, and troubleshoot automated tests using UFT, Java-based frameworks, and the DevSecOps Test Automation Low Code Framework.
• Design and maintain automated API test suites for RESTful and SOAP services, validating functionality, performance, security, and reliability.
• Integrate test artifacts into Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines while maintaining audit traceability.
• Perform defect reporting, advanced root-cause analysis, risk assessment, and cross-functional collaboration with developers, business partners, and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Expert knowledge of testing processes, test planning, defect management, and software testing tools.
• Advanced experience with Azure Boards, Azure Test Plans, Micro Focus ALM, UFT, BlueZone, and test parameter files.
• Working knowledge of Gherkin, Cucumber, XPath, HTML, CSS, Git, Selenium, Azure Pipelines, and Postman Pro.
• Working knowledge of SQL and databases, plus experience testing mainframe, on-premise, and cloud-hosted applications.
• ISTQB, DevOps Foundation, Azure, or Scaled Agile certifications are required or relevant to the role.

Nice to have

• Experience evaluating testing tools and conducting proof-of-concept projects.
• Experience developing Azure Pipelines and scripting CI/CD jobs.
• Experience writing automation code with IntelliJ or Visual Studio Code.
• Microsoft SQL Server experience and ASTQB CTFL or CTAL-TAE certification.
• Knowledge of banking and financial industry standards and practices.
