Senior Application Engineer (Compliance Security BSA/OFAC)

Location: Vienna, Virginia, United States (Hybrid). Regular hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Salary: $130,500-$179,500 annually

What you will do

• Design, develop, and optimize software applications supporting BSA and OFAC teams and internal users.
• Manage the full software development lifecycle, including design, coding, testing, deployment, and system integration.
• Translate business requirements into technical specifications and scalable application solutions.
• Develop maintainable code, optimize data structures and algorithms, and improve application performance.
• Troubleshoot advanced functionality, performance, and software defects while conducting code reviews.
• Lead small projects and initiatives and collaborate with engineers, stakeholders, and subject-matter experts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, a related field, or equivalent education, training, or experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in application or software development engineering and/or systems integration.
• Knowledge of BSA and OFAC systems and NFCU payment rails.
• Experience with APIs, MuleSoft, SQL, Python, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, modern frameworks, and version control systems.
• Advanced knowledge of software development principles, Agile methodologies, testing, quality assurance, databases, web technologies, and scalable system design.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with Java.
• Mainframe experience.
