Senior Counsel, AI Legal International Policy & Contracts (AI)

Salary: $160,500–$305,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead global AI regulatory, policy, governance, and contracting strategies across business functions and international markets.
• Monitor and interpret AI regulations, including the EU AI Act and regimes in China, Japan, Australia, and Brazil.
• Develop enterprise AI legal policies, standards, governance frameworks, and contracting standards.
• Advise on cross-border AI deployment, data transfers, localization, privacy, and compliance obligations.
• Draft, review, and negotiate vendor, data, strategic partnership, and other AI-related agreements.
• Advise senior legal, compliance, business, executive, and Board/Audit Committee stakeholders on AI risks and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor or equivalent degree and active bar membership.
• At least 5 years of legal experience; 10 years preferred.
• Deep expertise in technology law, global regulatory frameworks, and data privacy.
• Experience with cross-border regulatory matters and complex technology or AI agreements.
• Strong executive communication, strategic judgment, stakeholder influence, and risk management skills.
• Work from North Chicago, Illinois, United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/ML regulatory frameworks such as the EU AI Act and GDPR.
• Experience in life sciences or another highly regulated industry.
• Experience collaborating with government affairs teams or regulatory bodies.
