Sales Consultant (Furniture Retail)

Location: Kansas City, MO (Liberty area), United States; showroom-based role

Compensation: Training pay of $15 per hour for 2–6 weeks without commission; post-training base pay of $11 per hour plus uncapped commission. Average annual earning potential after training: $35,000–$55,000+.

What you will do

• Sell furniture, accessories, design services, and related products while meeting store sales goals.
• Guide customers through a premium sales process, including needs discovery, product presentations, objection handling, closing, follow-up, and after-sale service.
• Schedule and support professional home consultations with customized room designs, fabrics, furniture, tables, accessories, and installation recommendations.
• Promote the Design program and collaborate with hirify.global Designers to achieve sales goals.
• Maintain customer records, process orders and deposits, coordinate deliveries, and respond to customer questions and complaints.
• Support showroom presentation, store operations, peer training, opening and closing procedures, and a positive sales culture.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous selling experience and the ability to close sales are strongly preferred.
• Excellent communication, customer service, organizational, interpersonal, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage time, conflicting priorities, and changing business needs while working effectively with others.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
• Luxury sales, retail, interior design, or premium materials experience.
