Senior Process & Chemical Engineer – Industrial & Processing

Location: Auckland, New Zealand; hybrid work model. In-person Day 1 onboarding at an hirify.global office is required.

What you will do

• Lead and deliver process and chemical engineering work packages for greenfield and brownfield industrial projects.
• Prepare engineering documentation, reports, data sheets, designs, calculations, reviews, and technical advisory inputs across the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with civil, client, contractor, and site teams on plant location, piping, existing assets, and site-specific requirements.
• Apply engineering expertise to pressure vessels, heat exchangers, industrial processes, pipe supports, and 3D modelling.
• Identify design discrepancies, solve technical problems, and support delivery within agreed scopes, budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
• Mentor graduate and early-career engineers while contributing to technical and project delivery excellence.

Requirements

• Over 6 years of process or chemical engineering experience on complex, multidisciplinary projects.
• Experience delivering process and chemical projects across concept, detailed design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Experience with both greenfield and brownfield sites, preferably in energy, industrial, chemical processing, food, generation, or wastewater treatment environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in process engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field.
• Registered or working toward Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, coordination, client relationship, and technical leadership skills.
