Senior Electrical Engineer (Food & Dairy)

Location: Hamilton, New Zealand. The role involves travelling to customer sites for 20–30% of working time. New Zealand or Australian residency with full working rights is required. hirify.global does not sponsor work visas or relocation.

What you will do

• Lead the electrical engineering scope for medium to large projects from concept and feasibility through commissioning and handover.
• Develop electrical solutions using hirify.global or customer-specific standards.
• Contribute to project pricing, cost estimation, scope definition, bids, proposals, and technical risk management.
• Coordinate project delivery, equipment procurement, subcontractors, suppliers, and implementation activities.
• Lead technical discussions and design reviews with customers and internal stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring while supporting continuous improvement of engineering standards and tools.

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering electrical design and build projects across the full project lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of AS/NZS Wiring Regulations and applicable electrical standards.
• Experience commissioning electrical systems in production or industrial environments.
• Experience with large or complex capital projects, subcontractor and supplier management, and technical risk.
• University degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with project management skills and the ability to work autonomously.
• Understanding of PLC/HMI hardware selection and integration, with exposure to Hazardous Area Design and Functional Safety Design.
