Pediatric Oncology Nurse II (Pediatric Hematology Oncology): Providing pediatric nursing care for patients with hematology disorders, leukemia, and lymphoma on a 17-bed unit with an accent on clinical assessment, pain management, patient education, and protocol-based care. Focus on delivering age-appropriate care, interpreting patient data, supporting current research protocols, and working rotating 12-hour night shifts.

Location: Memphis, Tennessee, United States; on-site part-time role with three 12-hour shifts, including rotating holiday and weekend assignments.

Salary: $31.50–$55.00 per hour

What you will do

  • Provide nursing care for pediatric patients with hematology disorders, leukemia, and lymphoma.
  • Care for patients enrolled in current treatment and research protocols.
  • Perform pediatric assessments, pain assessments, and age-specific interpretation of patient data.
  • Deliver patient education and care tailored to growth and developmental needs.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary clinical and research teams.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a BSN and at least 18 months of clinical nursing experience.
  • Current St. Jude or other registered nursing experience, including some pediatric or oncology nursing experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Current Tennessee nursing licensure is required for Tennessee residents or residents of a non-compact state; compact-state residents must hold a license in their primary state of residence.
  • Intermediate pediatric assessment, critical thinking, pain assessment, clinical nursing, interpersonal, and patient education skills.
  • Working knowledge of research protocols and principles of growth and development.

Nice to have

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support or Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification, as applicable.
  • Certified Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurse certification.
  • Oncology Certified Nurse certification.
