Staff Frontend Engineer - Portfolio Management (Order Generation) (Fintech)

Location: Reno, NV; New York, NV; Remote within the United States

Salary: $182,500–$228,000 annually; select New York and California locations may use a $200,500–$251,000 range.

What you will do

• Build complex applications for a trade order management solution.
• Apply trading-domain knowledge, quantitative expertise, and software engineering skills to product design and development.
• Participate in requirements analysis, design reviews, and asset-class expansion across the platform.
• Shape scalable applications using AWS backend services and developer-focused automation.
• Advocate pragmatic design and development practices, including automated testing.
• Coach and mentor product engineers delivering secure, high-performance enterprise applications.

Requirements

• Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including architecting and designing new products and technologies.
• Expert knowledge of Java or Kotlin, with Kotlin preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent discipline.
• Experience with design patterns, OOAD/SOLID principles, and automated unit testing.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and ability to navigate complex codebases independently.

Nice to have

• Experience with buy-side order management systems.
• Knowledge of complex financial instruments and their valuations.
• Background in mathematics.
