Platform Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Must be based in or able to work in-person in New York City

Compensation: $125,000 – $250,000 + Equity

What you will do

• Design and maintain gated deployment processes and automated schema migrations.
• Build reliable, fast local and remote development environments and sandboxes.
• Manage infrastructure-as-code standards using Spacelift and OpenTofu.
• Develop internal developer portals and ownership registries to improve engineering productivity.
• Implement observability foundations, including tracing, logging, and incident management.
• Enhance security through unified secrets management, IAM scoping, and audit logging.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on infrastructure or platform work.
• Confidence with AWS, IaC (Terraform/OpenTofu), CI/CD systems, and Linux/container fundamentals.
• Strong programming skills in TypeScript and Python.
• Product-focused mindset with a desire to improve developer experience.
• Must be able to work in-person in New York City.

Nice to have

• Experience with Spacelift, Atlantis, Datadog, or GitHub Actions.
• Background in incident management and defining SLAs for high-traffic systems.
• Experience supporting non-engineer contributors with internal tools.
