Infrastructure DevOps Software Engineer III (AI)

Location: Greater Seattle Area; U.S. work authorization required

Base pay for Washington applicants: $164,652.00–$230,512.80 per year. Other site ranges may differ.

hirify.global develops reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems, with this role supporting the Engines business unit’s propulsion design, manufacturing, and testing activities.

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate reusable Pulumi and Terraform infrastructure-as-code modules as versioned internal products.
• Build golden paths, self-service automation, and production-ready platform templates for software and data teams.
• Own shared AWS services and production Amazon EKS platforms, including networking, identity, autoscaling, upgrades, multi-tenancy, and resource governance.
• Develop CI/CD deployment patterns, microservice platform capabilities, observability, and automated security controls.
• Apply AI-assisted development and build AI-supported operational automation for triage, alert summarization, remediation suggestions, and change impact analysis.
• Define SLOs and error budgets, lead incident response and root cause analysis, and improve platform performance, resiliency, capacity, and cost efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics, aerospace, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on software or cloud infrastructure experience, including ownership of production systems and support for internal teams or tenants.
• Deep AWS experience with EC2, EKS, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, CloudWatch, Route 53, and Secrets Manager or Parameter Store.
• Production Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code with Pulumi and Terraform, containers, CI/CD, Linux, networking, observability, databases, and cloud security experience.
• Experience with TypeScript and/or Python plus at least one additional programming language, and professional use of AI coding assistants or agentic development tools.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee.

Nice to have

• Experience with internal developer platforms, Backstage or Port, Kubernetes operators, GitOps, Helm, Kustomize, or policy-as-code.
• Experience building AI or LLM-based operations automation, MCP servers, agent frameworks, or AI-facing internal tooling.
• Experience with secure DevSecOps tooling, AWS landing zones, FinOps, chaos engineering, disaster recovery, or resiliency testing.
• Aerospace, propulsion, manufacturing, or other high-reliability engineering experience and relevant professional certifications.
