Systems Engineer Intern (Aerospace)

Location: Phoenix, Arizona; full-time onsite internship

What you will do

• Support system design, requirements development, specifications, and interface documentation.
• Assist with systems analysis, modeling, integration, verification, validation, and regression testing.
• Develop and update system-level test procedures, scripts, and verification documentation.
• Execute tests, analyze results, investigate defects and unexpected system behavior, and document findings.
• Maintain requirements, design, test, configuration-management, and traceability artifacts.
• Collaborate with Software, Electrical, Mechanical, Test, Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Engineering teams.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited bachelor's or master's program in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least two years of undergraduate study expected before the internship begins.
• Foundational knowledge of engineering development, requirements, testing, debugging, and problem-solving.
• Strong analytical, communication, technical writing, organization, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work full-time onsite in Phoenix, Arizona for the duration of the internship.
• Must qualify as a US Person because the role may involve access to technology and hardware subject to US export control laws.

Nice to have

• Experience with requirements traceability, system architecture, interface definition, or model-based systems engineering.
• Knowledge of system-level testing, test reporting, regression testing, issue reproduction, or root cause analysis.
• Experience with test automation, scripting, configuration management, laboratory, ground, or flight testing.
• Exposure to aerospace, aviation, avionics, safety-related systems, or another regulated industry.
