Senior Systems Integration Engineer (DevSecOps)

Location: Onsite five days per week at a secure controlled information facility in Sterling, Virginia. The role includes work in standard office and SCIF environments.

What you will do

• Integrate and test software subsystems and external systems, investigate interface and data-exchange issues, and drive integration defects to resolution.
• Create and maintain SWIT and SIT test threads, cases, steps, traceability, and verification evidence for formal test events.
• Build simulators, stubs, message injectors, data generators, log analyzers, automated test suites, and reporting utilities.
• Extend regression coverage through CI/CD and produce consistent engineering and compliance test reports.
• Configure and deploy containerized software to laboratory, integration, customer-site, disconnected, and classified environments.
• Provide technical direction, mentor engineers, and establish reusable integration, testing, documentation, and deployment practices.

Requirements

• STEM degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced related degree with at least 3 years of experience.
• Hands-on experience integrating and testing software across subsystem or external-system boundaries, including building test automation, harnesses, or utilities.
• Experience with secure or regulated software environments and cross-functional software development teams.
• Working knowledge of AWS or GCP; experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, Helm, ArgoCD, or Flux.
• Proficiency with Python, Pytest, Linux shell scripting and CLI tools, GitLab, and Artifactory.
• Active and transferable TS/SCI U.S. government security clearance and U.S. citizenship are required before starting.

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed, real-time, or message-driven systems and interface simulators or emulators.
• Knowledge of JUnit XML, CTRF, Allure, Gherkin, Cucumber, NiFi, Kafka, REST APIs, Swagger, or Cameo.
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical efforts.
• AWS Solutions Architect Associate, Certified Kubernetes Administrator, or DoD IAT Level II certification.
