PHP & React Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Remote within Latin America

Total monthly compensation: $3,000–$3,500 USD

What you will do

• Help build and release a new React Native mobile application.
• Build and extend PHP APIs and services supporting mobile and web clients.
• Define mobile integration patterns and development conventions.
• Own features from design discussions through development and release.
• Investigate and resolve defects in a vanilla PHP application across application logic, databases, and integrations.
• Analyze logs and monitoring data, collaborate with QA and Support, and improve performance and reliability.

Requirements

• Production experience as a PHP engineer.
• Hands-on React Native experience, including at least one application shipped to the App Store or Google Play.
• Experience building and consuming REST APIs for web or mobile clients.
• Ability to debug and fix issues in large or legacy codebases.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases, SQL, Git, CI/CD, and automated testing.
• Experience with AI-assisted coding tools and the ability to work independently in a remote role.

Nice to have

• Experience integrating PHP applications with third-party APIs.
• Experience modernizing legacy systems without disrupting production.
• Knowledge of secure coding, data integrity, offline behavior, push notifications, or mobile release cycles.
