Buyer (Manufacturing)

Location: Lincoln, RI, United States; onsite manufacturing role

Salary: $62,000–$92,000 base annually

What you will do

• Manage more than 400 raw-material SKUs and maintain inventory levels that support uninterrupted production.
• Create, maintain, and manage purchase orders for production and inventory requirements.
• Coordinate daily with suppliers and third-party logistics providers on deliveries, transportation schedules, shortages, and order status.
• Monitor inventory, expedite materials, reschedule orders, and resolve supply-chain risks before they affect production.
• Resolve receiving discrepancies and coordinate with suppliers, receiving, logistics, operations, and production teams.
• Maintain purchasing and inventory data in Excel and Coupa, conduct cycle counts, and analyze lead times and supplier performance.

Requirements

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• At least 5 years of experience in purchasing, buying, procurement, supply chain, or a related function.
• Experience managing inventory, purchase orders, material availability, and supplier relationships.
• Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency and the ability to manage purchasing and inventory data.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities, lead times, shortages, and expedited orders in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication, organization, problem-solving, attention to detail, and follow-through skills.

Nice to have

• Manufacturing, inventory control, demand planning, production planning, or materials management experience.
• Experience with Coupa or other procurement and ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, formulas, and reporting.
