Staff Security Engineer (Security Incident Response)

Location: Remote within the United States or Canada. Travel for in-person engagement, including offsites, team meetings, and customer or industry events, is expected as needed.

Salary: $192,000–$278,000 USD annual base salary for US-based roles; $167,000–$242,000 CAD annual base salary for Canada-based roles.

What you will do

• Lead response to complex, high-severity security incidents as incident manager and technical escalation point.
• Design and build AI-assisted and automated systems for incident triage, investigation, and containment.
• Implement safety controls, approval gates, auditability, and rollback mechanisms so high-impact actions remain human-controlled.
• Own tabletop exercises, incident gamedays, scenario design, debriefs, and measurable readiness improvements.
• Advance threat hunting and insider risk capabilities through roadmap planning and delivery.
• Mentor engineers and partner with Security Operations, Product Security, Privacy, and Engineering teams to improve response capabilities.

Requirements

• Significant experience leading complex, high-severity security incidents as an incident commander or equivalent technical lead.
• Experience designing AI-assisted or agentic security operations automation and applying appropriate human decision controls.
• Strong software engineering experience building production tooling, automation, or systems.
• Experience owning security programs or capability roadmaps and delivering multi-quarter initiatives.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native, SaaS, and identity-driven attacks, along with experience running tabletop exercises or gamedays.
• Strong communication skills and experience mentoring engineers or raising team capabilities.
