Collections Specialist (Accounts Receivable)

Location: Primarily remote, but candidates must be local to Barberton, Ohio, within commuting distance, and able to work onsite when needed; training is onsite. Full-time, Monday–Friday, 7:00 am–3:30 pm.

Salary: $20 per hour.

What you will do

• Manage and monitor assigned large-client account portfolios.
• Contact clients by phone and in writing to collect overdue invoices.
• Research and resolve payment conflicts and cash discrepancies using Oracle.
• Maintain accurate account notes and follow-up queues in collections software.
• Provide account updates and documentation to collections, operations, sales, and clients.
• Process credit card payments, participate in collections calls, and complete assigned projects.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of collections, accounts receivable, or customer service experience.
• Computer skills and familiarity with accounting software.
• Authorization to work indefinitely in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
• Professional working proficiency in English, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Strong communication, listening, negotiation, problem-solving, organizational, and customer service skills.

Nice to have

• Previous collections or accounts receivable experience.
• Knowledge of accounting processes, collections policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Associate degree in accounting or a related field.
