TL;DR
Lead Environmental Specialist (Environmental Compliance/Sustainability): Implementing environmental management programs, sustainability metrics, and regulatory compliance initiatives across manufacturing facilities with an accent on CO2 reduction, energy conservation, pollution prevention, and environmental data systems. Focus on auditing facilities, interpreting environmental performance data, improving resource efficiency, and guiding environmental professionals across business units.
Location: Tower, United States; travel required 30–50% of the time.

What you will do
- Implement and improve corporate and business-unit environmental management programs.
- Develop sustainability metrics, environmental strategies, CO2 reduction initiatives, and resource-conservation programs.
- Monitor environmental legislation and support manufacturing facilities with regulatory compliance.
- Manage environmental data systems, performance indicators, reports, records, and recommendations.
- Audit facilities and programs, conduct benchmarking, and promote pollution prevention and energy-efficiency practices.
- Provide technical consultation, cross-functional coordination, and indirect guidance to environmental professionals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering, or a related science, plus 10 years of professional experience in environmental engineering, environmental management systems, or regulatory compliance.
- Ability to develop spreadsheets, improve databases, conduct research, perform mathematical computations, and make environmental engineering recommendations.
- Knowledge of environmental engineering principles, pollution prevention, process standardization, and continuous improvement.
- Strong communication, organization, collaboration, and self-direction skills.
- Ability to travel 30–50% of the time.
- Employment requires completion of U.S. Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification; temporary work authorization or the need for sponsorship may disqualify candidates.
Nice to have
- Experience with EPA MACT air regulations.
- Experience with Intelex or other environmental management information systems.
- Environmental auditing experience.
- Environmental credentials such as CHMM, PG, or PE.
