Senior Associate Scientist, Bioprocess Analytics (AI)

Location: Framingham, Massachusetts, United States; laboratory-based role supporting bioprocess analytics and biologics development.

What you will do

• Provide analytical support for Process Science, R&D, Manufacturing, and cross-functional partners across biologics development programs.
• Execute routine and advanced testing using HPLC/UPLC, CE, cIEF, ELISA, binding assays, impurity analysis, and LC-MS/MS peptide mapping in a non-GMP environment.
• Develop, optimize, troubleshoot, and establish analytical and characterization methods, protocols, technical reports, investigations, and procedures.
• Evaluate new separation-science technologies and advance laboratory automation for sample preparation and analytical workflows.
• Assess and implement AI and generative AI solutions for data processing, visualization, and decision-making.
• Manage multiple projects, maintain laboratory operations, interpret data, and communicate scientific findings to cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field with 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 1+ years of relevant experience.
• Hands-on experience with separation-science techniques for protein characterization, including CE, cIEF, UPLC/HPLC, or LC-MS.
• Experience with analytical data-processing software such as Empower, OpenLAB, Chromeleon, 32karat, or Compass.
• Ability to independently manage multiple concurrent projects across varied analytical testing platforms.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, time-management, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a laboratory-based position in Framingham, Massachusetts.

Nice to have

• Expertise in protein purity, charge-variant, and glycan analyses.
• Experience with Waters and Agilent HPLC/UHPLC systems, Caliper LabChips, PA800 Plus, Maurice/iCE, or BioPhase 8800 platforms.
• Experience with AI and generative AI for analytical data analysis and visualization.
• Experience with Agilent Bravo or Hamilton automated liquid-handling systems.
• GLP/GxP pharmaceutical or biotechnology experience and familiarity with electronic laboratory notebooks.
