Physician Assistant - Orthopaedics Outpatient

Location: Tufts Medical Center - Corporate Location; onsite clinical role

Salary: $133,120.00–$166,400.00 annually based on full-time equivalent

What you will do

• Perform comprehensive patient histories, physical examinations, and initial evaluations for outpatient orthopaedic patients.
• Order and interpret laboratory, radiological, and other diagnostic studies.
• Diagnose acute and chronic conditions and develop individualized treatment plans with supervising physicians.
• Prescribe medications, perform clinical and therapeutic procedures, and monitor patient progress.
• Educate patients and families on treatment options, preventive care, and health maintenance.
• Maintain clinical documentation and collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and successful completion of a Physician Assistant program.
• Physician Assistant licensure within the first three months following receipt of a complete medical staff membership and privileges application.
• Physician Assistant certification and Basic Life Support certification.
• Ability to assess patients across age groups, evaluate complex clinical findings, and coordinate treatment plans.
• Ability to lift and turn patients weighing 30–35 pounds and work for extended periods standing and walking.

• State and federal controlled substances registration.
• Experience orienting or training Physician Assistants and supporting team coordination.
