Electrical Engineer Intern (Summer 2027)

What you will do

• Develop and implement electrical engineering project deliverables under the guidance of an assigned mentor.
• Design power, lighting, grounding and bonding, telecommunications, data, security, fire alarm, raceway, cable tray and other building support systems.
• Prepare load, illumination, short-circuit and voltage-drop calculations, basis-of-design reports and code evaluations.
• Produce single-line diagrams, plans, schedules, installation details, specifications and other construction documentation.
• Support conceptual and schematic design, design development, construction documentation and construction administration.
• Coordinate with project teams, vendors, clients, contractors, regulatory bodies and other disciplines.

Requirements

• Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex data sets and develop actionable insights.
• Ability and willingness to collaborate with multidisciplinary internal and external stakeholders.
• Interest in the food and beverage or life sciences industry and eagerness to apply academic knowledge to real-world engineering projects.

Nice to have

• Experience with power systems.
• Progress toward registration for or completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM360 Suite and Assemble.
• Knowledge of AEC industry regulations and standards.
• Prior electrical engineering internship or co-op experience.
