Per Diem OB/Peds Clinical Nursing Instructor (OB/Peds)

What you will do

• Provide OB/Pediatrics education in skills lab and clinical settings according to the established curriculum and faculty expertise.
• Plan and supervise student clinical experiences at assigned healthcare facilities, ensuring assignments meet student and facility needs.
• Observe, instruct, and evaluate students against clinical learning outcomes and provide timely performance feedback.
• Maintain attendance records, skills check-off forms, student records, reports, and program outcome data.
• Use adult-learning principles and online learning activities to improve instruction, while keeping current with nursing technologies and safety regulations.
• Attend faculty meetings, support nursing program committees, and maintain ongoing communication with students.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse with current, unencumbered licensure in the state where teaching takes place.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, including nursing education or administration coursework and academic preparation for the subject taught.
• At least four years of registered nursing experience, including one year within the last five years providing direct patient care.
• Current knowledge and experience in nursing practice, clinical settings, mentoring, communication, and nursing laboratory operations.
• Ability to meet applicable Board of Nursing faculty requirements; current immunizations and Basic Life Support certification are required.
• ATI certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire; the certification is provided by Unitek.

Nice to have

• One year of nursing-course teaching experience or completion of a nursing-teaching course.
• Expertise in pediatrics, labor and delivery, mental health, medical-surgical nursing, geriatrics, community health, or critical care.
